The game is set in the known world of Final Fantasy VII, while the hero is Zack Fair, a man who has a key role in the game although in the original only in the flashback of Cloud. Zack is a SOLDIER, which is a member of the ShinRa military elite, and his dream is to become a hero, just like Sephiroth and even surpass, but to become a hero and not to give up his beloved freedom and to save the his companion and friend, Cloud Strife, Zack will meet their fate.
